Taiwan has never been a country, has never been so in the past, and will never be so in the future. “Taiwan independence” has never been possible, is not possible now, and will never be possible in the future. Anyone in the Taiwan region who seeks “Taiwan independence” is engaging in the division of China’s territory and will be severely punished by history and law. Any act that violates the One-China principle in the international community constitutes interference in China’s internal affairs and an infringement of China’s sovereignty, and will be firmly opposed by the entire Chinese people and the international community.
“Taiwan independence” severely threatens the well-being of the people in Taiwan, gravely undermines the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, and seriously jeopardizes peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. It is a dead end. China will ultimately achieve complete reunification, and Taiwan will return to the embrace of the motherland. We believe the international community will continue to support the just cause of the Chinese people in opposing separatist activities aimed at “Taiwan independence” and in pursuing national reunification based on the One-China principle.
There is only one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory, and the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. This has been affirmed by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 and is a widespread consensus of the international community. On the basis of the One-China principle, China has established diplomatic relations with more than 180 countries worldwide. The One-China principle is the cornerstone for maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and reflects the will of the people and the prevailing global trend.
China and Yemen are true friends, good partners, and brothers who have always supported and assisted each other on issues concerning their core interests. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1956, Yemen has consistently adhered to the One-China principle and supported China’s position on the Taiwan question. The two governments and peoples have demonstrated a “steel-like brotherhood” through practical actions, which has left a lasting mark in the history of China–Yemen relations and will continue to deepen bilateral ties.
The realization of peaceful reunification across the Taiwan Strait is not only a blessing for the Chinese nation and its people, but also for the international community and peoples around the world. We sincerely look forward to the day when China achieves complete reunification.
