The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has affirmed that it will respond with utmost resolve and unprecedented force to any attempts targeting the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or violating the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, stressing that all measures will be taken in full accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki stated that the recent statements issued by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom are merely an attempt to divert attention from the grave violations the group continues to commit against the Yemeni people, while seeking to export its economic failures and humanitarian crisis and conceal the growing tribal and public rejection it faces.
Al-Maliki explained that these statements are part of the Houthis' ongoing hostile conduct and attempts to undermine regional and international security, despite the extensive efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, together with the Coalition and international partners, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and advance a comprehensive political settlement through a roadmap accepted by the Yemeni government but rejected by the Houthi militia.
He noted that the militia not only rejected peace initiatives but also escalated its attacks on international shipping lanes and global trade in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, exposing Yemen’s ports, airports, infrastructure, and economic facilities to destruction and further worsening the humanitarian and economic conditions of the Yemeni people.
The Coalition spokesperson reiterated that Coalition forces will respond decisively to any attempts targeting the Kingdom, its citizens, and its national assets, or violating Yemen’s sovereignty, emphasizing the Coalition’s commitment to safeguarding regional security and stability.
