The Yemeni Republican Party strongly condemns Iran’s blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen through the operation of a direct flight to Sana’a International Airport, which remains under the control of the Houthi terrorist militia. The Party affirms that this act constitutes a flagrant assault on Yemen’s sovereignty, a clear breach of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and further demonstrates Iran’s continued direct interference in Yemen’s internal affairs by using armed militias as instruments to advance its expansionist agenda across the region.
In a statement issued today, the Party stressed that this latest escalation is not an isolated incident, but rather part of a long-standing pattern of Iranian interference that has fueled and prolonged the conflict, obstructed peace efforts, and sustained the Houthi militia through financial, military, and logistical support. Such actions have enabled the militia to undermine Yemen’s state institutions, threaten international maritime security, target neighboring countries, and inflict severe harm on the Yemeni people and their future.
The Party held the Iranian regime politically, legally, and morally responsible for the crimes and violations committed by the Houthi militia against the Yemeni people, as well as for turning Yemen into a platform for implementing Tehran’s regional agenda in continued violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Yemeni Republican Party reaffirmed its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and for all political, diplomatic, and legal measures undertaken by the Yemeni state to safeguard its sovereignty and preserve its exclusive authority over its airspace, borders, and sovereign institutions, in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Party also commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its sincere and pivotal role in supporting Yemen’s legitimate government and its sustained efforts to end the conflict and promote peace and stability, alongside the continued support provided by regional and international partners to Yemen’s legitimate institutions. It noted that these efforts have consistently been obstructed by the Houthi militia’s intransigence and its complete subordination to the Iranian regime.
Furthermore, the Party called upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and the international community to take firm and practical measures to deter Iranian interference, halt the flow of weapons, funding, and other forms of support to the Houthi militia, and strengthen oversight of the channels used by Tehran to sustain its intervention in Yemen. The Party warned that continued tolerance of these violations threatens not only Yemen, but also regional security, international maritime navigation, and international peace and security.
In concluding its statement, the Yemeni Republican Party emphasized that the Yemeni people will never accept foreign domination or allow their homeland to be transformed into a platform for Iranian hegemonic ambitions or regional proxy conflicts. The Party reaffirmed that restoring the Yemeni state, ending the coup, and cutting off all external support to the Houthi militia remain the essential path toward achieving the just and lasting peace that the Yemeni people deserve.
