The Yemeni Republican Party issued an important political statement on Monday, strongly condemning the Iranian regime's continued violations of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen. The statement came after an Iranian aircraft breached Yemeni airspace and landed in areas controlled by the Houthi militia, marking the second such airspace violation in a single day.
The party stressed that this act constitutes a direct challenge to Yemen's internationally recognized legitimate government and a deliberate disregard for the official rejection and sovereign measures announced by the Yemeni state. It described the repeated Iranian violations as a serious breach of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions on Yemen.
The statement further explained that the Iranian flights to Houthi-controlled areas cannot be regarded as normal civil or aviation activities. Rather, they form part of a systematic strategy through which the Iranian regime seeks to impose new political and security realities on the ground and transform territories and facilities under militia control into geographical and military extensions of its destabilizing regional project.
The party noted that this incident once again demonstrates that the Iranian-backed Houthi militias have become instruments of Tehran's expansionist agenda after surrendering Yemen's national decision-making, resources, and sovereignty in service of external interests.
The Yemeni Republican Party reaffirmed its full support for the legitimate leadership represented by the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, declaring its backing for all lawful measures undertaken by the state to protect national sovereignty and prevent any unauthorized foreign interference in Yemen's airspace, airports, and ports.
The party held the Iranian regime and the Houthi militias fully responsible for the consequences of these repeated violations and any resulting escalation that could threaten Yemen's security and stability, regional security, and the safety of international navigation. It called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and the international community to move beyond routine expressions of concern and condemnation and to adopt firm and practical measures to end what it described as Iranian interference and prevent the use of Yemeni facilities as military and intelligence bases that threaten international peace and security.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the party's unwavering commitment to restoring the Yemeni state and all its institutions, defending national sovereignty and independence, rejecting all forms of external interference and tutelage, and standing alongside all national forces until the coup is ended and every inch of Yemeni territory is restored.
