The Yemeni Republican Party announced its full support for the position expressed by Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding developments related to the coordinates and maps submitted by the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations, which included claims affecting the established sovereign rights of the sister State of Kuwait in its maritime areas and underwater elevations.
The Party affirmed its steadfast solidarity with Kuwait and its unwavering support for Kuwait’s full sovereignty over its territory, territorial waters, and maritime zones in accordance with internationally recognized and demarcated boundaries. It also stressed its categorical rejection of any measures or claims that undermine or infringe upon these rights in any way.
The Yemeni Republican Party emphasized that respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity constitutes a fundamental principle of the international system and that any attempt to reopen issues that have already been settled through binding international decisions represents a clear violation of international law.
In this context, the Party reaffirmed the relevant legal frameworks, foremost among them United Nations Security Council Resolution 833 and the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), as the governing framework for border delimitation between the two countries.
The Party further stressed the importance of all parties adhering to bilateral agreements and international resolutions and prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy in a manner that preserves regional security and stability and strengthens good-neighborly relations among sister nations.
The Yemeni Republican Party renewed its support for the sister State of Kuwait in defending its sovereignty and legitimate rights, reaffirming its commitment to Yemen’s national principles that uphold respect for state sovereignty and the preservation of security and stability throughout the Arab region.

The Yemeni Republican Party is following with deep concern and condemnation the coordinates and maps submitted by the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations, which contain claims affecting the established sovereign rights of the sister State of Kuwait in its maritime areas and underwater elevations.
In line with the official position announced by Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Party affirms its full and unwavering solidarity with the sister State of Kuwait and its absolute support for Kuwait’s complete sovereignty over its territory, territorial waters, and maritime zones within internationally recognized and demarcated boundaries. It also rejects any measures or claims that challenge or diminish this sovereignty.
The Yemeni Republican Party stresses that respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity is a principle that cannot be compromised or reinterpreted and that any attempt to revisit issues already settled through binding international decisions constitutes a violation of the rules governing the international order. In this regard, the Party reiterates the importance of the established legal references, foremost among them United Nations Security Council Resolution 833 and the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as the governing framework for the delimitation of land and maritime boundaries between the two countries.
The Party further affirms that regional security and stability require clear adherence to bilateral agreements and international resolutions, as well as restraint from any unilateral measures that could escalate tensions or undermine good-neighborly relations.
While expressing its appreciation for the fraternal relations between the Iraqi and Kuwaiti peoples, the Party believes that preserving these ties depends on respect for international law and compliance with existing commitments in a manner that strengthens mutual trust and safeguards regional peace.
