The Yemeni Republican Party welcomed and praised the speech delivered by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, in which he declared Egypt’s readiness to participate in defending the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The party described Egypt’s position as a strategic pillar for protecting Arab national security and confronting threats and expansionist projects in the region.
In a statement issued on Monday, the party reaffirmed its appreciation for Egypt’s historic positions in support of Yemen, particularly its role in supporting the September 26 Revolution and the sacrifices made by Egyptian brothers alongside Yemenis in defense of liberation and the end of Imamate rule.
The party noted that Egypt’s position reflects its longstanding pan-Arab role in supporting Arab causes and strengthens Arab solidarity in confronting challenges that threaten the region’s security and stability.
The Yemeni Republican Party stressed that Egypt’s position comes at a critical time, amid attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorist militias against civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia. It warned that these attacks threaten regional security, pointing to the militias’ links to the expansionist agenda of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and their attempts to threaten international navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The party renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirming its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security, sovereignty, and national interests.
It also called on Arab countries to build on Egypt’s position by unifying their efforts within a comprehensive strategic Arab alignment capable of confronting these threats and adopting a firm deterrence strategy to safeguard Arab national security.
The party further called for full support for Yemen’s legitimate government and state institutions, enabling them to extend their sovereignty over the entire national territory and end the Houthi coup, thereby contributing to the protection of Yemen’s and the region’s security and safeguarding vital maritime routes.
