The Chairman of the Yemeni Republican Party, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Jazeelan, along with Mr. Yasser Al-Maamari, Head of the Party’s Media Department, and Mr. Hamed Al-Shaeri, Head of the Economic Department, met today with Her Excellency the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, at the French Embassy headquarters.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and France’s consistent and steadfast support for legitimacy and the Yemeni people, in addition to reviewing France’s contributions in development, humanitarian, and relief fields, as well as its clear positions regarding the Iran-backed Houthi militias and their ongoing violations against Yemenis.
The discussions emphasized the importance of France’s role, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, in strengthening international support for Yemeni legitimacy and ensuring the full implementation of relevant UN resolutions on Yemen, particularly Resolution 2216. This, the meeting noted, would help mobilize an effective international stance to end the practices of the Houthi terrorist militias and curb their growing threats to regional and international security, particularly their impact on maritime security in the Red Sea.
The meeting also addressed prospects for joint cooperation between the French Embassy and the Yemeni Republican Party, particularly in the areas of training and institutional capacity-building, contributing to the strengthening of political and organizational work and supporting the path toward a civil state based on partnership and the rule of law.
For her part, the French Ambassador expressed her appreciation for the meeting, reaffirming France’s continued support for Yemen and its legitimacy, and its commitment to contributing to efforts aimed at achieving stability and peace.
