The Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Ahmed Obeid Bin Daghr, met today with the leadership of the Yemeni Republican Party, headed by Engineer Mohammed Jazeelan, the Party Chairman and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in the presence of Mr. Yasser Al-Maamari, Head of the Media Department, and Mr. Hamed Al-Shaeri, Head of the Economic Department.

During the meeting, the latest political and national developments were reviewed, along with the current challenges facing the country, foremost among them the continued coup by the Iran-backed Houthi militia and the serious threats it poses to Yemen’s security, unity, and stability.

The meeting emphasized the importance of the national role played by political components and forces in strengthening republican alignment and unifying the internal front under the framework of the state and constitutional legitimacy, in a way that supports state institutions, restores their effectiveness, and extends their authority over the entire national territory.

The leadership of the Yemeni Republican Party expressed its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council, headed by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, and its backing of the government’s efforts to address economic and service-related challenges and improve institutional performance, particularly in the temporary capital, Aden.

The discussions also addressed the situation in Aden, stressing the need to empower the state to manage security and service portfolios, eliminate any manifestations outside the rule of law, and establish the authority of official institutions as a fundamental step toward stability and development.

Both sides affirmed that the national struggle is not only against the Houthi militia, but also against all forms of militias and armed groups operating outside the state framework. They emphasized that restoring the state and building a strong republican system can only be achieved through restricting weapons to legitimate state institutions and consolidating the concept of a single sovereign state with independent decision-making.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Bin Daghr stressed that the current stage requires a high level of national responsibility from all political forces, and working in a spirit of partnership rather than domination, in order to protect the republican project, preserve Yemen’s unity, and support the path toward restoring the state and ending the coup.
