The leadership of the Yemeni Republican Party, headed by Engineer Mohammed Jazeelan, Chairman of the Party, and accompanied by Mr. Yasser Al-Maamari, Head of the Media Department, and Mr. Hamed Al-Shaeri, Head of the Economic Department, paid a visit to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, where they met with Mr. Zhao Qing, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires in Yemen.
During the meeting, the latest political and field developments in Yemen were discussed, amid ongoing military escalation and attempts by the Houthi militia to impose a new reality that threatens security and stability and deepens the humanitarian crisis.
The Yemeni Republican Party leadership emphasized the importance of China’s role in supporting constitutional legitimacy and the Yemeni government, and in backing efforts to restore state institutions and extend their authority. The Party also praised China’s balanced positions and its support for the path toward peace and stability.
For his part, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires outlined the assistance and support provided by China to Yemen over recent years, both in humanitarian and development fields, reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, and its continued cooperation with the legitimate government across various sectors.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening Yemeni-Chinese relations politically and economically, and exploring new avenues of cooperation that would help alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and support recovery and reconstruction efforts.
