Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, called on political parties and components to play an active national role in leading public awareness and strengthening the internal front, stressing that the current phase requires the highest levels of national cohesion in confronting the Iranian project and its destabilizing tools in Yemen and the region.
During his meeting on Thursday with leaders of the National Bloc of Political Parties and Components, headed by Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid Bin Dagher, Al-Alimi affirmed that political parties constitute the state's political backbone and an essential partner in defending the republican system and safeguarding its national gains. He urged greater public support for the state project, backing for the armed forces, support for government reforms, and avoidance of rhetoric that undermines the republican front.
Al-Alimi stressed that Iran's latest violation of Yemen's sovereignty—through the dispatch of a Revolutionary Guard aircraft to Sana’a Airport, which is under Houthi militia control—once again proves that the Houthis have never been genuine partners for peace but rather represent an existential threat to Yemen's security and stability.
He noted that Yemen had consistently warned that any regional understandings that fail to address the root of the problem—the Iranian project—would not lead to sustainable peace. He added that the current regional developments present an opportunity to strengthen Yemen's position and accumulate sources of national strength in preparation for ending the coup and restoring state institutions.
On the economic front, Al-Alimi praised the generous support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the strategic partnership with the Kingdom is one of the key pillars for transitioning toward a secure future. He noted that government reforms and Saudi support have helped thwart the Houthi militias' attempts to paralyze the state economically and plunge the country into a comprehensive humanitarian crisis.
He reaffirmed the state's commitment to peace, stressing that peace cannot come at the expense of Yemen's sovereignty, dignity, security, and stability, and that the state will continue taking all necessary measures to protect the interests of the Yemeni people and restore state institutions, relying on the unity of the internal front and the determination to end the coup.
For their part, leaders of the political parties and components reiterated their commitment to standing alongside the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, supporting efforts to strengthen state institutions and advance reforms, and affirmed that national unity and public support for state institutions constitute the first line of defense against the Houthi project backed by the Iranian regime and are essential to protecting Yemen's national identity and republican system.
