The Yemeni Republican Party issued an important political statement today, Friday, marking the 64th anniversary of the Glorious September 26 Revolution. The Party extended its highest congratulations and sincere greetings to the Yemeni people at home and abroad, to the political leadership represented by the Presidential Leadership Council, and to the heroes of the Armed Forces and security forces stationed across the various fields of honor and duty.
The Party affirmed that the September 26 Revolution was not merely a passing historical event, but the founding moment of modern Yemen and a social and political covenant that liberated Yemenis from the constraints of dynastic and theocratic rule into the realm of free and dignified citizenship. It stressed that the Republic represents the natural expression of the dignity of the Yemeni people and the only guarantee of the unity of their homeland and the diversity of their political and social fabric.
The Yemeni Republican Party strongly welcomed, fully endorsed, and firmly supported the call by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council for “general mobilization,” describing it as a responsible response to the call of national duty and a courageous recognition of the scale of the existential challenge posed by the Houthi dynastic coup project.
The statement explained that the call for general mobilization goes beyond a narrow military concept, reflecting instead the need to move from fragmented defensive efforts and passive waiting toward organized national action; to mobilize the country’s capabilities; and to unify decision-making around the supreme objective of ending the coup and restoring state institutions.
The Party stressed that defending the Republic is a shared national duty and a historic responsibility that belongs neither exclusively to any single party, group, nor region. It affirmed that “the Republic is not safeguarded by empty slogans, nor restored through seasonal celebrations, nor brought to victory through divided voices and scattered banners.” The statement called for broad national alignment in which political, military, security, intellectual, and media efforts are integrated, while legitimate state institutions are activated on the foundations of competence and integrity, with the supreme interests of the nation placed above all narrow factional considerations.
The Republican Party reaffirmed its commitment to building a future Yemen founded on constitutional legitimacy and republicanism, equal citizenship, justice, broad political participation, the rule of law, and the state’s exclusive authority over legitimate arms. It emphasized that Yemen can have neither stability nor genuine development under projects of dynastic domination or while weapons remain outside the authority of the state.
The Party concluded its statement with a message of hope and steadfastness to Yemenis at home and abroad, affirming that the storms of regression will not be able to uproot the tree of freedom watered by the blood of free men. It paid tribute to the souls of the martyrs of the Glorious September and October Revolutions and those who fell in the battle to restore the state, while renewing its commitment to remaining at the forefront of those defending the republican system until the state is restored and a bright Yemeni future is built.
