The Yemeni Republican Party strongly condemned the criminal escalation and terrorist attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, describing the targeting of Mecca, the birthplace of revelation and the holiest sanctuary and direction of prayer for Muslims, alongside the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure and vital energy facilities, as an extremely dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of the sanctity of holy sites and fundamental religious and humanitarian values.
The Party affirmed that targeting Islam’s holiest sanctuary unequivocally exposes the terrorist nature of the Houthi militia, its complete departure from religious values and humanitarian norms, and its blatant disregard for the faith and sentiments of Muslims in Yemen, the region, and around the world.
The Party noted that the Houthi militia has demonstrated its subordination to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and that its military activities targeting the security of the Kingdom and threatening international navigation and energy supplies constitute a danger that extends beyond the borders of the Yemeni crisis to directly affect regional and international security, as well as the freedom of global trade and navigation.
It further stated that the Houthis’ efforts to threaten the Bab al-Mandab Strait and international shipping routes, together with their targeting of energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, serve an Iranian agenda aimed at blackmailing the international community and using the security and stability of the region as a tool for political leverage.
The Yemeni Republican Party renewed its full solidarity with and unwavering support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, stressing that confronting Houthi terrorism is no longer merely a Yemeni or regional matter, but an international responsibility dictated by the need to safeguard security, stability, and international navigation.
The Party affirmed that the terrorist nature of the Houthi militia has become an established reality before the world, pointing to its designation as a terrorist organization by a number of countries, and called on other countries and the United Nations to adopt a clear position and designate the militia an internationally recognized terrorist organization, with the resulting deterrent measures against its leadership and networks of financing and arms supply.
The Yemeni Republican Party called on the international community to move beyond verbal condemnation and toward firm and practical measures, and to support the Yemeni government, armed forces, and popular resistance in their efforts to eliminate Houthi terrorism, restore state institutions, end the coup, and restore the Yemeni state across its entire national territory.
The Party stressed that protecting international navigation and regional security requires a comprehensive deterrence strategy that cuts off the Houthi militia’s sources of financing and arms supplies, dismantles its support networks, and puts an end to its threats against holy sites, civilian infrastructure, energy resources, and international trade routes.
