The Yemeni Republican Party has called for restructuring the legitimate leadership system, ending the existence of multiple centers of decision-making, and completing the unification of the armed forces and security services, in a manner that would enable the state to manage the national battle with greater efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately leading to the liberation of Sana’a and the restoration of state institutions.
In a political statement issued today, Sunday, the party said that the recent military developments on the western coast front have exposed chronic structural deficiencies in the management of the national battle. It warned that the continuation of the current mechanisms has become a threat to the project of restoring the state and ending the Iranian-backed Houthi coup, as well as to Yemen’s security and the safety of maritime routes in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The Yemeni Republican Party held the Presidential Leadership Council, as the highest authority in the state, constitutionally, politically, and morally responsible for any setback or failure on the western coast front. It called for adopting a firmer and more proactive approach to managing the current phase, in a manner commensurate with the sacrifices of the armed forces and popular resistance.
The party called for restructuring the Presidential Leadership Council to consist of only a President and one Vice President, while granting the executive leadership decisive powers to ensure unified decision-making, swift implementation of decisions, and a cohesive chain of command. It also called for the formation of a small war cabinet tasked primarily with leading the national battle toward Sana’a.
The party further called for the immediate and unconditional completion of the effective integration of all military and security formations under the umbrellas of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, and for activating a unified command-and-control system that would end the duplication of formations and multiplicity of operation rooms, thereby unifying the military effort against the Houthi militia.
The party expressed its appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, for what it described as its historic positions in supporting legitimacy and safeguarding Yemen’s security and stability. It called on the Saudi leadership, as the leader of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy and the regional power with a pivotal role in guaranteeing the path toward stability, to sponsor efforts to complete arrangements for restructuring the leadership and unifying the armed forces.
In this context, the party called for support to complete the unification of the armed forces and for the urgent provision of military, logistical, and financial support to launch the national battle toward the liberation of Sana’a and the restoration of the state, ending the control of the Houthi militia and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps over the capital.
The Yemeni Republican Party renewed its confidence in the ability of the Yemeni people, the armed forces, the popular resistance, and all national forces to overcome the current phase and accomplish the battle for liberation with resolve and capability. It stressed that achieving this requires genuine political will and unified leadership, and called on all national components and forces to move beyond narrow calculations and unite around the goal of restoring Sana’a and ending the dynastic project.
The party affirmed that restoring the state, ending the Houthi coup, and achieving victory for the Republic constitute the essence of the national cause. It paid tribute to the martyrs, wished the wounded a speedy recovery, and expressed its hopes for victory for the Yemeni people.
