The National Bloc of Political Parties and Components hailed the achievements and sacrifices of the national armed forces, the national resistance, and the Yemeni people in confronting the Houthi militia, reaffirming its support for their steadfastness and sacrifices in defense of the Republic of Yemen.
In a statement issued on Friday, the bloc called for effective and comprehensive military action across all fronts simultaneously, in order to prevent the Houthi militia from determining the timing and choosing the battlefields of its confrontations.
The bloc’s position comes amid the latest Houthi escalation on the fronts of Taiz, Hodeidah, and the western coast. It stressed the need to move from fragmented responses to Houthi escalation toward coordinated military action covering all fronts.
The bloc also stressed the importance of coordination with the leadership of the Arab Coalition in supporting efforts to end the Houthi militia’s rebellion, terminate its control over state institutions, and restore those institutions to the authority of the legitimate government. At the same time, it highly appreciated the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen’s legitimate government and its role in supporting the resilience of state institutions and enabling them to continue carrying out their duties.
The bloc renewed its call on the international community to support the legitimate government and implement UN Security Council Resolution 2216, warning that treating the Houthis as a political party, in its view, legitimizes an unlawful status quo and prolongs the threat facing Yemen and international maritime navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The bloc also called on the Yemeni people to rally around the armed forces and national resistance in defense of the Republic of Yemen, its unity, and territorial integrity. It urged families whose sons have been drawn into the ranks of the Houthi militia to work to pull them out of a conflict that, it said, serves only the Iranian project and Houthi terrorism.
