The National Bloc of Yemeni Political Parties and Components has strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against a Saudi commercial vessel in the Red Sea, describing it as a continuation of the group's systematic campaign to threaten international maritime security and advance Iran's regional agenda.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the bloc said the repeated targeting of commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure exposes the falsehood of the Houthis' claims regarding the humanitarian situation in Yemen, stressing that the country's crisis is driven by the militia's war economy.
The bloc warned of the severe economic consequences of continued attacks on commercial vessels and energy supplies for Red Sea nations, particularly Yemen and Egypt, emphasizing that safeguarding this vital waterway is essential to regional stability and prosperity.
It reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, as well as Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, in the face of Iranian-backed threats, expressing support for the Coalition and all regional countries confronting Iran's destabilizing activities.
The statement also urged the UN Security Council to fully enforce Resolutions 2216 and 2722 and take decisive measures to designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, holding it accountable for threatening regional and international security.
Finally, the bloc called on its member parties and organizations to organize public rallies across Yemen in support of the legitimate government's efforts to end the Houthi coup and restore state authority under the leadership of Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi.
